Narrative:

I am a CFI, giving 61.56(a) flight review. Landed short on runway 20, full stop. Student, the PF, after landing, started to turn onto runway 31, an intersecting runway. After turn started, tower told us to turn onto taxiway A6 (off runway 31), then taxi to ramp. Tower then reminded us to get clearance before turning onto intersecting runways. The cause was lack of knowledge by the trainee and slow reaction by me. By the time I recognized the situation, the turn onto the intersecting runway had started. This situation is another type of runway incursion that should be discussed in training.
