Narrative:

I contacted morristown (kmmu) to obtain clearance to rdu. There was some confusion on the part of the clearance controller when he could not find the flight plan in the system. For the next 45 mins we sat on the ramp waiting and listening to this controller get totally abusive to pilots calling. He was shouting on the radio telling pilots to 'shut up, he was busy.' while I realize he was busy with traffic which really was not all that heavy, his attitude was unacceptable for any kind of profession. If a pilot had expressed even half the attitude this guy expressed, it would have been an immediate call the tower situation. At no time did I hear any pilot say or do anything to warrant this behavior from the controller. If this is the way this controller handles stress, then he has no business being in the position of any kind of controller, even a ground controller.

Title: PA32 PLT, WAITING FOR AN IFR DEP CLRNC, HEARS UNPROFESSIONAL COMMENTS FROM MMU GC.

Narrative: I CONTACTED MORRISTOWN (KMMU) TO OBTAIN CLRNC TO RDU. THERE WAS SOME CONFUSION ON THE PART OF THE CLRNC CTLR WHEN HE COULD NOT FIND THE FLT PLAN IN THE SYS. FOR THE NEXT 45 MINS WE SAT ON THE RAMP WAITING AND LISTENING TO THIS CTLR GET TOTALLY ABUSIVE TO PLTS CALLING. HE WAS SHOUTING ON THE RADIO TELLING PLTS TO 'SHUT UP, HE WAS BUSY.' WHILE I REALIZE HE WAS BUSY WITH TFC WHICH REALLY WAS NOT ALL THAT HVY, HIS ATTITUDE WAS UNACCEPTABLE FOR ANY KIND OF PROFESSION. IF A PLT HAD EXPRESSED EVEN HALF THE ATTITUDE THIS GUY EXPRESSED, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN AN IMMEDIATE CALL THE TWR SIT. AT NO TIME DID I HEAR ANY PLT SAY OR DO ANYTHING TO WARRANT THIS BEHAVIOR FROM THE CTLR. IF THIS IS THE WAY THIS CTLR HANDLES STRESS, THEN HE HAS NO BUSINESS BEING IN THE POS OF ANY KIND OF CTLR, EVEN A GND CTLR.
