Narrative:

On descent into las, lax center cleared us to descend via the skebr one arrival. Just prior to clarr X, las approach cleared us to descend via the skebr one arrival, except descend and maintain 9000 ft. We continued to descend as instructed. At 10300 ft, las approach called and said he wanted us at 11000 ft. We climbed to 11000 ft and I asked for his phone number. After landing, I called las TRACON. He looked at the approach plate and agreed we had been given an improperly stated clearance. The controllersouth intent was for us to cross povoc fix at 9000 ft instead of 8000 ft. He said no harm, no foul. These were new approachs and he would talk with the controller.
