Narrative:

Level at 10000 ft in cruise between phl and avp, ny center hands us off to allentown approach. Allentown approach descends us to 6000 ft. Descending through 9200 ft, allentown says return to your last assigned altitude and frequency. Ny center says, I was supposed to send aircraft X to allentown not aircraft Y. Center controller never advised that there was another similar call sign on frequency. Both ny center and allentown approach mistook us for aircraft X. Air carrier's website show aircraft X from mdt to abe at that time.
