Narrative:

En route to bos, ECAM warning left engine losing oil quantity. All other indications normal advised dispatch and maintenance control. Was decided it may be faulty transmitter on oil quantity. Oil psi on left engine then dropped 2 psi, decided to head (divert) for dtw (100 NM south) while we still had good left engine. On downwind at dtw, got master warning (low oil pressure) and shut down left engine. Declared emergency, completed checklist, and landed at nearest suitable airport, dtw.
