Narrative:

On nov/xa/01 at approximately XA15, I departed XXX with 2 passenger. I contacted ZZZ approach and informed them of my intentions to land at ZZZ. Approaching ZZZ, the controller told me to return transponder to 1200 and contact ZZZ on the advisory frequency. I made an initial call to announce my position and intentions and all standard radio calls for downwind, base, and final. After being unsatisfied with my flare and touchdown, I decided to take off, fly another circuit, and land again. I added takeoff power, lifted off, and began my climb out. I announced that I was 'touch-and-go, runway 25.' before turning base, I was notified by someone (I assume the FBO) on the advisory frequency that there was a NOTAM in effect for arrs and departures only and that I should have been in contact with ZZZ approach prior to landing. I informed this person that I had been in touch with ZZZ and had also obtained a WX briefing prior to the flight. I continued my climb out and departed to the west. In my preflight briefing, I had been told that there were no NOTAMS or airmets for my entire area of flight and was never notified by the controller at ZZZ of any unusual procedures in effect. I feel that better, or more efficient methods for obtaining all area, local, and airport NOTAMS should be standard for all briefings.

Title: A C172 PLT MADE A TOUCH-AND-GO AT AN ARPT UNDER A TFR.

Narrative: ON NOV/XA/01 AT APPROX XA15, I DEPARTED XXX WITH 2 PAX. I CONTACTED ZZZ APCH AND INFORMED THEM OF MY INTENTIONS TO LAND AT ZZZ. APCHING ZZZ, THE CTLR TOLD ME TO RETURN XPONDER TO 1200 AND CONTACT ZZZ ON THE ADVISORY FREQ. I MADE AN INITIAL CALL TO ANNOUNCE MY POS AND INTENTIONS AND ALL STANDARD RADIO CALLS FOR DOWNWIND, BASE, AND FINAL. AFTER BEING UNSATISFIED WITH MY FLARE AND TOUCHDOWN, I DECIDED TO TAKE OFF, FLY ANOTHER CIRCUIT, AND LAND AGAIN. I ADDED TKOF PWR, LIFTED OFF, AND BEGAN MY CLBOUT. I ANNOUNCED THAT I WAS 'TOUCH-AND-GO, RWY 25.' BEFORE TURNING BASE, I WAS NOTIFIED BY SOMEONE (I ASSUME THE FBO) ON THE ADVISORY FREQ THAT THERE WAS A NOTAM IN EFFECT FOR ARRS AND DEPS ONLY AND THAT I SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH ZZZ APCH PRIOR TO LNDG. I INFORMED THIS PERSON THAT I HAD BEEN IN TOUCH WITH ZZZ AND HAD ALSO OBTAINED A WX BRIEFING PRIOR TO THE FLT. I CONTINUED MY CLBOUT AND DEPARTED TO THE W. IN MY PREFLT BRIEFING, I HAD BEEN TOLD THAT THERE WERE NO NOTAMS OR AIRMETS FOR MY ENTIRE AREA OF FLT AND WAS NEVER NOTIFIED BY THE CTLR AT ZZZ OF ANY UNUSUAL PROCS IN EFFECT. I FEEL THAT BETTER, OR MORE EFFICIENT METHODS FOR OBTAINING ALL AREA, LCL, AND ARPT NOTAMS SHOULD BE STANDARD FOR ALL BRIEFINGS.
