Narrative:

Passenger inadvertently locked in lavatory. Landed with passenger in lavatory. Passenger was using lavatory. When a screw backed out consequently jamming the lock opening mechanism. The flight attendant worked on opening the door for approximately 25 mins with no success in opening the door. After landing, it took ZZZ maintenance about 20 mins to get the door open. They had to pry the door open with a large screwdriver. The door was damaged extensively. Recommendation: for security replace cockpit door with the lavatory door because a perpetrator could not possibly get into the lavatory.
