Narrative:

Prior to boarding my flight I met a company pilot requesting a ride to ord. Since our policy is to allow jumpseat rider to take a seat in the cabin I advised flight attendant #1 of the pilot and that I wanted him to situation in first class. She did not respond. Later when the pilot came to the cockpit during boarding I asked him to wait in the cockpit until we were sure there was room in first class then to have a seat there. Flight attendant was standing right next to him and said no. I asked what her reason was, perhaps there was no room in the first class cabin attendant. She said regardless of room he would not be sitting there period. I explained my reasons for him sitting there, it's a professional courtesy and I thought it a good idea to have a crewmember sitting near the cockpit in the event of a disturbance. She still refused and said why should I have to serve him. I said in effect because I said so. She said she would find a higher authority as she left the aircraft leaving less than FAA min crew on board. I took a deep breath and decided to find flight attendant and discuss this with her to determine whether or not she would be continuing to ord with us. I found her on the jet bridge with an agent and flight attendant #4. I asked agent if any seats were open in first class and he said yes. Flight attendant again said the pilot was not sitting in first class. Her demeanor was sharp, disrespectful, uncooperative and angry as she walked away from me. That was when I decided she would be removed from my flight. I told her to gather her belongings and she did. I called dispatch and tried to explain as flight attendant shouted over me that either she or I would stay in ZZZ. Of course dispatch and I agreed we go with min flight crew to ord without flight attendant. I briefed the remaining crew of the situation, seated the pilot in first class and apologized to the unsuspecting passenger for being late and we were off to ord without further incident.

Title: A B737-800 PRIOR TO DEP THE #1 CAB ATTENDANT WAS REMOVED FROM THE FLT BY THE CAPT FOR INSUBORDINATION.

Narrative: PRIOR TO BOARDING MY FLT I MET A COMPANY PLT REQUESTING A RIDE TO ORD. SINCE OUR POLICY IS TO ALLOW JUMPSEAT RIDER TO TAKE A SEAT IN THE CABIN I ADVISED FLT ATTENDANT #1 OF THE PLT AND THAT I WANTED HIM TO SIT IN FIRST CLASS. SHE DID NOT RESPOND. LATER WHEN THE PLT CAME TO THE COCKPIT DURING BOARDING I ASKED HIM TO WAIT IN THE COCKPIT UNTIL WE WERE SURE THERE WAS ROOM IN FIRST CLASS THEN TO HAVE A SEAT THERE. FLT ATTENDANT WAS STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO HIM AND SAID NO. I ASKED WHAT HER REASON WAS, PERHAPS THERE WAS NO ROOM IN THE FIRST CLASS CAB. SHE SAID SHE WOULD FIND A HIGHER AUTHORITY AS SHE LEFT THE ACFT LEAVING LESS THAN FAA MIN CREW ON BOARD. I TOOK A DEEP BREATH AND DECIDED TO FIND FLT ATTENDANT AND DISCUSS THIS WITH HER TO DETERMINE WHETHER OR NOT SHE WOULD BE CONTINUING TO ORD WITH US. I FOUND HER ON THE JET BRIDGE WITH AN AGENT AND FLT ATTENDANT #4. I ASKED AGENT IF ANY SEATS WERE OPEN IN FIRST CLASS AND HE SAID YES. FLT ATTENDANT AGAIN SAID THE PLT WAS NOT SITTING IN FIRST CLASS. HER DEMEANOR WAS SHARP, DISRESPECTFUL, UNCOOPERATIVE AND ANGRY AS SHE WALKED AWAY FROM ME. THAT WAS WHEN I DECIDED SHE WOULD BE REMOVED FROM MY FLT. I TOLD HER TO GATHER HER BELONGINGS AND SHE DID. I CALLED DISPATCH AND TRIED TO EXPLAIN AS FLT ATTENDANT SHOUTED OVER ME THAT EITHER SHE OR I WOULD STAY IN ZZZ. OF COURSE DISPATCH AND I AGREED WE GO WITH MIN FLT CREW TO ORD WITHOUT FLT ATTENDANT. I BRIEFED THE REMAINING CREW OF THE SIT, SEATED THE PLT IN FIRST CLASS AND APOLOGIZED TO THE UNSUSPECTING PAX FOR BEING LATE AND WE WERE OFF TO ORD WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.
