Narrative:

On landing, a catering cart which was not locked secure rolled into the cockpit door and caused severe damage to the door. Prior to departure, both the captain and the first officer checked that the carts were secure (ferry flight - no flight attendants). It was assumed that someone from catering boarded the aircraft, after the galley was secured, and left the carts unsecured. With 16 yrs of experience, I was never aware that it seems to be standard procedure for catering to leave galley equipment unsecured.
