Narrative:

09/sun/01, on a pleasure flight squawking 1200 headed for my home base ZZZ1 airport I was contacted by approach control upon landing at ZZZ1 to call them. Unknown to me, I had violated special use air space at the race track. I must have been 3 or 4 miles out. I assume this is my fault for failing to check with flight service and NOTAMS before ever leaving the ground. My apologies were accepted by flight service as they informed me I would be placed under report to the authorities during these tight security times throughout the USA. No contact has been made as of yet.
