Narrative:

On flight from msn-dtw at 16000 ft, in climb out over mke, had cargo annunciator lights illuminate requiring an abnormal procedure. Dispatch directed us to divert and land at mke. On visual approach to runway 25L, had unsafe gear indications. After gear extension, initiated go around asking tower and approach control to keep us close to the field. Gear were visually inspected and verified down and locked. Declared an emergency and asked for rescue trucks to assist. Stated our intentions of stopping on runway and having company mechanics pin our gear and tow us in. Also, with previous problem which caused our diversion, we asked the rescue squad to check for smoke around our cargo hood. Landing was uneventful and rescue crew thermally checked our aircraft and gave us a thumbs up. Mechanics towed us off runway.
