Narrative:

During the time frame that I flew on a maintenance flight, all airspace in the united states was closed to all commercial and private aircraft. I was unaware of the ban until after I had landed. I have since talked to several pilots who also were unaware of the ban. I think the news media needs to be more specific as to how they get the information out. I realize that if I had contacted flight service I would have been told. Since it was a maintenance flight, within sight of a private airport, and the WX was clear with unlimited visibility, I didn't feel the need to call. Having the information on tv and radio more specifically would help to alleviate this in future for private airport use.
