Narrative:

After returning home from a solo long cross country I was cleared to be #2 on runway 27 for a landing. I was pressed for time and miscalculated my approach, after being asked to make a short approach which I had never before been asked to do. I headed in for runway 32 and just when I realized what I had done the tower told me that runway was closed and I needed to go around. Realizing where I was I figured I was heading into the downwind side of traffic. I applied full throttle and began climbing to get as far away from the traffic pattern and over top of the runway which I did. The tower then cleared me for a long landing and I was #1. I landed my plane and exited the runway. I believe that myself being pressed for time and becoming disoriented when asked to do something I had never before been asked to do caused this problem.

Narrative: AFTER RETURNING HOME FROM A SOLO LONG XCOUNTRY I WAS CLRED TO BE #2 ON RWY 27 FOR A LNDG. I WAS PRESSED FOR TIME AND MISCALCULATED MY APCH, AFTER BEING ASKED TO MAKE A SHORT APCH WHICH I HAD NEVER BEFORE BEEN ASKED TO DO. I HEADED IN FOR RWY 32 AND JUST WHEN I REALIZED WHAT I HAD DONE THE TWR TOLD ME THAT RWY WAS CLOSED AND I NEEDED TO GO AROUND. REALIZING WHERE I WAS I FIGURED I WAS HEADING INTO THE DOWNWIND SIDE OF TFC. I APPLIED FULL THROTTLE AND BEGAN CLBING TO GET AS FAR AWAY FROM THE TFC PATTERN AND OVER TOP OF THE RWY WHICH I DID. THE TWR THEN CLRED ME FOR A LONG LNDG AND I WAS #1. I LANDED MY PLANE AND EXITED THE RWY. I BELIEVE THAT MYSELF BEING PRESSED FOR TIME AND BECOMING DISORIENTED WHEN ASKED TO DO SOMETHING I HAD NEVER BEFORE BEEN ASKED TO DO CAUSED THIS PROB.
