Narrative:

Severe WX avoidance program in effect. We received a reroute. New hire flight attendant could not close baggage door. I left my seat to close the door. When I returned to my seat I verified the original route not the reroute. I also could have confused J77 and J75. End result was straying off the assigned route. When ATC noticed deviation we were cleared direct to gve. No conflicts were noted. I feel that I should have sent first officer to close door while I concentrated on reprogramming and verifying the assigned route and also cross out old route so I will not mistake it for the cleared route.
