Narrative:

After the dinner service in B1C had concluded and the lights were off, I heard a disturbance and left the first class cabin to see what was happening. A man, who had been seated in the 1ST row of back course by the window, was standing up walking around and shouting at all crew members he could see. He had come from a connecting flight. He did not appear to have had too much alcohol. His loud voice was verbally abusive to any flight attendant he encountered. We decided that no more than 2 flight attendants should try and deal with him at one time to avoid his feeling of being overwhelmed. He complained of being cold of being mistrusted. He was offered his choice of seats, as there were only 10 passenger. He was offered additional blankets. Nothing would help but to go to first class. The international relief officer came back to speak to him and he was verbally abusive to him as well. From time to time, I would leave and let another flight attendant take over. During that time, the seat belt sign came on and he was asked to take a seat. He refused saying everyone was treating him badly. I came back to business class and sat next to him though he refused to use his seat belt. Later, he made a fist and with a twisting motion aimed it at my stomach as though he wished to stabilizer me. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the flight attendant stated that the individual was later identified as a 'vip doctor' that appeared to have a low regard for women. He had been served two glasses of wine and was insisting upon being seated in first class, which was empty. The flight ws nearly empty with only 10 passenger in business class and thirty in coach. When asked to situation down by the flight attendant when the seat belt sign was on he said that, ' he didn't' have to listen to any stupid women that didn't know what they were talking about.' after the international relief officer came back to speak with him. The international relief officer had told him that the flight would divert and drop him off short of his destination airport if he didn't' stop this behavior. Since he was being met at the airport by friends, he appeared to settle down somewhat. Crew asked for police to meet the flight. When at the destination airport, parked at the hard stand, the man refused to get off with the other passenger. Later, he was bussed to the terminal with the crew after having a run in with the captain. He had asked for all of the crew members names, including the captain's. When he was told the captain's name (which was exactly the same as a famous person) he flew into a rage and felt he was being toyed with. Police met the passenger at the terminal. Captain did not prefer to press charges but asked operations in the us to not allow this passenger to fly on company aircraft, in fact, 'not on any aircraft.' company disapproved that request but would 'monitor him.'

Title: A FLT ATTENDANT REPORT ON AN ABUSIVE PAX THAT FELT HE WAS BEING MISTREATED BY THE AIRLINE PERSONNEL ON A B767-300 ENROUTE TO SAN PAULO, SBGR, FO.

Narrative: AFTER THE DINNER SVC IN B1C HAD CONCLUDED AND THE LIGHTS WERE OFF, I HEARD A DISTURBANCE AND LEFT THE FIRST CLASS CABIN TO SEE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. A MAN, WHO HAD BEEN SEATED IN THE 1ST ROW OF BC BY THE WINDOW, WAS STANDING UP WALKING AROUND AND SHOUTING AT ALL CREW MEMBERS HE COULD SEE. HE HAD COME FROM A CONNECTING FLT. HE DID NOT APPEAR TO HAVE HAD TOO MUCH ALCOHOL. HIS LOUD VOICE WAS VERBALLY ABUSIVE TO ANY FLT ATTENDANT HE ENCOUNTERED. WE DECIDED THAT NO MORE THAN 2 FLT ATTENDANTS SHOULD TRY AND DEAL WITH HIM AT ONE TIME TO AVOID HIS FEELING OF BEING OVERWHELMED. HE COMPLAINED OF BEING COLD OF BEING MISTRUSTED. HE WAS OFFERED HIS CHOICE OF SEATS, AS THERE WERE ONLY 10 PAX. HE WAS OFFERED ADDITIONAL BLANKETS. NOTHING WOULD HELP BUT TO GO TO FIRST CLASS. THE IRO CAME BACK TO SPEAK TO HIM AND HE WAS VERBALLY ABUSIVE TO HIM AS WELL. FROM TIME TO TIME, I WOULD LEAVE AND LET ANOTHER FLT ATTENDANT TAKE OVER. LATER, HE MADE A FIST AND WITH A TWISTING MOTION AIMED IT AT MY STOMACH AS THOUGH HE WISHED TO STAB ME. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE FLT ATTENDANT STATED THAT THE INDIVIDUAL WAS LATER IDENTIFIED AS A 'VIP DOCTOR' THAT APPEARED TO HAVE A LOW REGARD FOR WOMEN. HE HAD BEEN SERVED TWO GLASSES OF WINE AND WAS INSISTING UPON BEING SEATED IN FIRST CLASS, WHICH WAS EMPTY. THE FLT WS NEARLY EMPTY WITH ONLY 10 PAX IN BUSINESS CLASS AND THIRTY IN COACH. WHEN ASKED TO SIT DOWN BY THE FLT ATTENDANT WHEN THE SEAT BELT SIGN WAS ON HE SAID THAT, ' HE DIDN'T' HAVE TO LISTEN TO ANY STUPID WOMEN THAT DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT.' AFTER THE IRO CAME BACK TO SPEAK WITH HIM. THE IRO HAD TOLD HIM THAT THE FLT WOULD DIVERT AND DROP HIM OFF SHORT OF HIS DEST ARPT IF HE DIDN'T' STOP THIS BEHAVIOR. SINCE HE WAS BEING MET AT THE ARPT BY FRIENDS, HE APPEARED TO SETTLE DOWN SOMEWHAT. CREW ASKED FOR POLICE TO MEET THE FLT. WHEN AT THE DEST ARPT, PARKED AT THE HARD STAND, THE MAN REFUSED TO GET OFF WITH THE OTHER PAX. LATER, HE WAS BUSSED TO THE TERMINAL WITH THE CREW AFTER HAVING A RUN IN WITH THE CAPT. HE HAD ASKED FOR ALL OF THE CREW MEMBERS NAMES, INCLUDING THE CAPT'S. WHEN HE WAS TOLD THE CAPT'S NAME (WHICH WAS EXACTLY THE SAME AS A FAMOUS PERSON) HE FLEW INTO A RAGE AND FELT HE WAS BEING TOYED WITH. POLICE MET THE PAX AT THE TERMINAL. CAPT DID NOT PREFER TO PRESS CHARGES BUT ASKED OPS IN THE U.S. TO NOT ALLOW THIS PAX TO FLY ON COMPANY ACFT, IN FACT, 'NOT ON ANY ACFT.' COMPANY DISAPPROVED THAT REQUEST BUT WOULD 'MONITOR HIM.'
