Narrative:

We were cleared for the visual to runway 16R at sea-tac airport when we switched over to tower. Winds were reported at 340 degrees at 12 KTS. We have a 10 KT tailwind restr for landing. The captain and first officer decided to land with full flaps 50 degrees. They said that they would get another report prior to landing. Aircraft Y landed in front of us on the same runway. I was receiving IOE and I asked the check airman if I heard the winds correctly. He asked the captain if it was okay and the captain said they would continue. Both captain and first officer had the progress page on the gfms up which showed the tailwind component. I did not see what it said. We landed without incident and plenty of room to spare. On rollout the winds were reported at 360 degrees/11 KTS which would have been acceptable (10 KT tailwind). It would have been wiser to go around and land in the other direction. I think that the crew captain and first officer just wanted to get home and this could have clouded their judgement. I was new and didn't use the forcefulness that I should have.

Title: A DC10 CREW ELECTS TO CONTINUE AN APCH TO SEA WITH A TAILWIND ABOVE THEIR AUTH LIMIT.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED FOR THE VISUAL TO RWY 16R AT SEA-TAC ARPT WHEN WE SWITCHED OVER TO TWR. WINDS WERE RPTED AT 340 DEGS AT 12 KTS. WE HAVE A 10 KT TAILWIND RESTR FOR LNDG. THE CAPT AND FO DECIDED TO LAND WITH FULL FLAPS 50 DEGS. THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD GET ANOTHER RPT PRIOR TO LNDG. ACFT Y LANDED IN FRONT OF US ON THE SAME RWY. I WAS RECEIVING IOE AND I ASKED THE CHK AIRMAN IF I HEARD THE WINDS CORRECTLY. HE ASKED THE CAPT IF IT WAS OKAY AND THE CAPT SAID THEY WOULD CONTINUE. BOTH CAPT AND FO HAD THE PROGRESS PAGE ON THE GFMS UP WHICH SHOWED THE TAILWIND COMPONENT. I DID NOT SEE WHAT IT SAID. WE LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT AND PLENTY OF ROOM TO SPARE. ON ROLLOUT THE WINDS WERE RPTED AT 360 DEGS/11 KTS WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN ACCEPTABLE (10 KT TAILWIND). IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WISER TO GO AROUND AND LAND IN THE OTHER DIRECTION. I THINK THAT THE CREW CAPT AND FO JUST WANTED TO GET HOME AND THIS COULD HAVE CLOUDED THEIR JUDGEMENT. I WAS NEW AND DIDN'T USE THE FORCEFULNESS THAT I SHOULD HAVE.
