Narrative:

On a return trip from thunder bay ontario (XA00 am), IFR, through kitchner ontario (XC45) for refueling and clearing customs in buffalo, I received a standard IFR briefing for direct to 39N at buffalo. After having the runway in sight, I canceled IFR. I called previous to canceling for TA, and again after canceling. Runway 10 was the active and I entered the pattern after overflying the field at 1500 ft. One plane was before me and one was following me on the downwind. I landed on the newly paved runway, and when I discriminated or saw barriers, I first braked, and then did a go around. During the liftoff phase of the takeoff, the plane hit 2 barricade lights, but missed the barricade. I exited the pattern and contacted center. I was given a squawk and idented. I verified my position relative to the field and landed straight-in to the runway 10 with no problems (the older runway). In hindsight I wish I could have been given an advisory or NOTAM regarding the new runway construction. There were no X's on the new runway at the runway ends and my flying history in another newly paved runway with no markings lured me to land on this new runway. In the future I will never land on a runway with no numbers. According to crash fire rescue equipment 830.5 this is not considered an accident since the flight control system still functioned properly and did not fail. The lights on the barricades will probably require repair, also the trim tab and stabilizer, but they functioned properly for exiting the pattern, doing a 360 degrees and landing, etc.

Title: PA34-200T PLT STRUCK BARRICADE LIGHTS DURING GAR AT AN UNCTLED ARPT UNMARKED NEW CLOSED RWY.

Narrative: ON A RETURN TRIP FROM THUNDER BAY ONTARIO (XA00 AM), IFR, THROUGH KITCHNER ONTARIO (XC45) FOR REFUELING AND CLRING CUSTOMS IN BUFFALO, I RECEIVED A STANDARD IFR BRIEFING FOR DIRECT TO 39N AT BUFFALO. AFTER HAVING THE RWY IN SIGHT, I CANCELED IFR. I CALLED PREVIOUS TO CANCELING FOR TA, AND AGAIN AFTER CANCELING. RWY 10 WAS THE ACTIVE AND I ENTERED THE PATTERN AFTER OVERFLYING THE FIELD AT 1500 FT. ONE PLANE WAS BEFORE ME AND ONE WAS FOLLOWING ME ON THE DOWNWIND. I LANDED ON THE NEWLY PAVED RWY, AND WHEN I DISCRIMINATED OR SAW BARRIERS, I FIRST BRAKED, AND THEN DID A GAR. DURING THE LIFTOFF PHASE OF THE TKOF, THE PLANE HIT 2 BARRICADE LIGHTS, BUT MISSED THE BARRICADE. I EXITED THE PATTERN AND CONTACTED CTR. I WAS GIVEN A SQUAWK AND IDENTED. I VERIFIED MY POS RELATIVE TO THE FIELD AND LANDED STRAIGHT-IN TO THE RWY 10 WITH NO PROBS (THE OLDER RWY). IN HINDSIGHT I WISH I COULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN AN ADVISORY OR NOTAM REGARDING THE NEW RWY CONSTRUCTION. THERE WERE NO X'S ON THE NEW RWY AT THE RWY ENDS AND MY FLYING HISTORY IN ANOTHER NEWLY PAVED RWY WITH NO MARKINGS LURED ME TO LAND ON THIS NEW RWY. IN THE FUTURE I WILL NEVER LAND ON A RWY WITH NO NUMBERS. ACCORDING TO CFR 830.5 THIS IS NOT CONSIDERED AN ACCIDENT SINCE THE FLT CTL SYS STILL FUNCTIONED PROPERLY AND DID NOT FAIL. THE LIGHTS ON THE BARRICADES WILL PROBABLY REQUIRE REPAIR, ALSO THE TRIM TAB AND STABILIZER, BUT THEY FUNCTIONED PROPERLY FOR EXITING THE PATTERN, DOING A 360 DEGS AND LNDG, ETC.
