Narrative:

We were level at FL310 when ZHU called us 'air carrier X, climb and maintain FL350, contact ZHU on frequency 1XX.xx.' we changed frequency, started climb. New controller said 'go back to the old frequency, this frequency in error.' we returned to the old frequency and reported in and were told the clearance was for another similar call sign. No deviation was required or TCASII alert.
