Narrative:

Left for ord. Ord WX reporting runway 27L, RVR 1800 ft V 2800 ft. Shot 2 approachs to minimums both to a missed approach. Then diverted to dtw alternate airport. Notified dispatch of diversion through ACARS en route dtw. Dispatcher acknowledged receipt of divert on ACARS. Dtw WX was VFR landing on the runways 21. Several aircraft in pattern. We requested runway 3R due to fuel considerations with missed approachs and vectors heavy both ord and dtw. Minimum fuel was declared (by controller) to accommodate. Landed safely. (Note: dtw approach controller was irritable about our request. We were assigned runway 4R for landing.)
