Narrative:

After departing teb, we were subsequently cleared to climb to our cruise altitude of FL430. Passing through FL180, we set all altimeters to 29.92 hg as part of our climb checklist. A short time later, center called to inquire what our altitude was. The captain's altimeter read FL430 and during xchk the copilot's altimeter read FL410. At that point the captain's altimeter continued to climb until it reached FL455 and then a red flag appeared. We continued to hand fly the aircraft using the copilot's altimeter while we attempted to troubleshoot the problem. We determined it was either a pitot static system fault or air data computer problem. We elected to divert to downtown airport (cps) where FBO maintenance discovered 2 serious leaks in both static system. Repairs were made and we continued our trip 4 days later. To prevent a recurrence, I would recommend that we xchk the altimeters more frequently.

Title: GULFSTREAM G1159 FLC WERE LEVEL AT THE WRONG CRUISING ALT DUE A MALFUNCTION IN THE ALTIMETER STATIC LINE SYS.

Narrative: AFTER DEPARTING TEB, WE WERE SUBSEQUENTLY CLRED TO CLB TO OUR CRUISE ALT OF FL430. PASSING THROUGH FL180, WE SET ALL ALTIMETERS TO 29.92 HG AS PART OF OUR CLB CHKLIST. A SHORT TIME LATER, CTR CALLED TO INQUIRE WHAT OUR ALT WAS. THE CAPT'S ALTIMETER READ FL430 AND DURING XCHK THE COPLT'S ALTIMETER READ FL410. AT THAT POINT THE CAPT'S ALTIMETER CONTINUED TO CLB UNTIL IT REACHED FL455 AND THEN A RED FLAG APPEARED. WE CONTINUED TO HAND FLY THE ACFT USING THE COPLT'S ALTIMETER WHILE WE ATTEMPTED TO TROUBLESHOOT THE PROB. WE DETERMINED IT WAS EITHER A PITOT STATIC SYS FAULT OR AIR DATA COMPUTER PROB. WE ELECTED TO DIVERT TO DOWNTOWN AIRPORT (CPS) WHERE FBO MAINT DISCOVERED 2 SERIOUS LEAKS IN BOTH STATIC SYS. REPAIRS WERE MADE AND WE CONTINUED OUR TRIP 4 DAYS LATER. TO PREVENT A RECURRENCE, I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT WE XCHK THE ALTIMETERS MORE FREQUENTLY.
