Narrative:

Mouse jumped out of carts in forward galley and ran into cabin. #1 flight attendant entered event in cabin maintenance log and did not inform appropriate auths. We were the departing crew. New #1 flight attendant informed us of discrepancy in cabin maintenance log after takeoff. Such event should have been entered in aircraft cockpit maintenance log, and aircraft either fumigated or mouse disposed of prior to departure. Mouse has the potential to nibble on wiring, causing short circuits.

Title: A B757 PIC RPTS THE UNAUTH BOARDING OF A MOUSE VIA THE CATERING CARTS ON THE RAMP AT BWI, MD.

Narrative: MOUSE JUMPED OUT OF CARTS IN FORWARD GALLEY AND RAN INTO CABIN. #1 FLT ATTENDANT ENTERED EVENT IN CABIN MAINT LOG AND DID NOT INFORM APPROPRIATE AUTHS. WE WERE THE DEPARTING CREW. NEW #1 FLT ATTENDANT INFORMED US OF DISCREPANCY IN CABIN MAINT LOG AFTER TKOF. SUCH EVENT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ENTERED IN ACFT COCKPIT MAINT LOG, AND ACFT EITHER FUMIGATED OR MOUSE DISPOSED OF PRIOR TO DEP. MOUSE HAS THE POTENTIAL TO NIBBLE ON WIRING, CAUSING SHORT CIRCUITS.
