Narrative:

On the morning flight out of clt, we were given a climb out of FL270 to FL310. I acknowledged the climb clearance and the first officer began the climb. At approximately FL290, we received a TCASII RA. After leveling the aircraft, I notified ATC that we were honoring a TCASII alert. Soon thereafter, we both visually acquired the aircraft at 1 O'clock high position, going away with considerable altitude separation. After passing, we continued our climb to FL310.
