Narrative:

During flight while at cruise msp, or, ZOB failed to hand our flight over to toronto center. It did not make itself evident until about 40 DME from cyyz. Ywt DME was OTS and we could still have communication on our last assigned frequency. We discovered the problem, made the call to toronto center and were able to make a normal approach and landing after our 360 degree turn to accommodate a descent.
