Narrative:
During preflight at msp, captain of flight xyz stated that both logbooks for aircraft and flight attendants had no write-ups. As it turned out, an open write-up for the forward lavatory sink stopper being inoperative was in the logbook with no maintenance action. We landed at uwg, contacted maintenance and the write-off was deferred.
