Narrative:

On landing rollout elp runway 22, ATC issued clearance for us to hold short taxiway east. This clearance came as we exited toward taxiway D. As we exited taxiway D, we crossed over taxiway east unknowingly. ATC reissued clearance to expedite crossing taxiway east. As we cleared taxiway east, we noticed landing traffic on runway 26L. Confusing time for a hold short clearance during landing rollout.
