Narrative:

Several aircraft noticed cut in left outboard tire on taxi out. Was reported to us and elected to return to gate for maintenance inspection. Tire needed to be changed. Tire was cut. Appeared to be after looking at scuff marks that an end of chock may have caused this problem. No corners were cut on way to runway.
