Narrative:

While cruising at FL260 on J174 approximately 80 mi north of ilm, encountered momentary severe turbulence. WX radar was on with no precipitation indicated. Seat belt sign was on and illuminated. As soon as event was over, captain immediately contacted the flight attendant by interphone to determine status of passenger. Captain relayed information to company dispatch and declared emergency. We proceeded direct to gso where medical personnel were ready and met the aircraft at the gate to attend to minor injuries.

Title: DO328 FLC ENCOUNTER SEVERE TURB, DECLARE EMER AND LAND WITH PAX INJURIES.

Narrative: WHILE CRUISING AT FL260 ON J174 APPROX 80 MI N OF ILM, ENCOUNTERED MOMENTARY SEVERE TURB. WX RADAR WAS ON WITH NO PRECIPITATION INDICATED. SEAT BELT SIGN WAS ON AND ILLUMINATED. AS SOON AS EVENT WAS OVER, CAPT IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE FLT ATTENDANT BY INTERPHONE TO DETERMINE STATUS OF PAX. CAPT RELAYED INFO TO COMPANY DISPATCH AND DECLARED EMER. WE PROCEEDED DIRECT TO GSO WHERE MEDICAL PERSONNEL WERE READY AND MET THE ACFT AT THE GATE TO ATTEND TO MINOR INJURIES.
