Narrative:

While on final to runway 18R at dfw, we had trouble establishing communication with dfw tower. We thought we heard the controller issue a landing clearance to us but the #1 communication radio was intermittent and some xmissions were garbled. The WX conditions were VFR and air traffic was light, so we made the decision to land. We made an entry for the #1 VHF communication radio so it could be checked. Upon landing, we re-established communication with tower and there was no indication of a conflict.
