Narrative:

We had an unsafe nose gear indication during our approach into clt. We performed our emergency procedures as outlined in our company manuals. We declared an emergency with ATC as we could not positively determine that the nose gear was safety locked. We declared an emergency with ATC and landed safely at clt on runway 18R. It was determined that the problem was in the indicating system.

Title: DC9 FLC DECLARED AN EMER DURING APCH DUE TO A LACK OF NOSE GEAR EXTENDED AND LOCK INDICATION. SUCCESSFUL LNDG WAS MADE WITH THE RESCUE AND FIRE EMER EQUIP STANDING BY.

Narrative: WE HAD AN UNSAFE NOSE GEAR INDICATION DURING OUR APCH INTO CLT. WE PERFORMED OUR EMER PROCS AS OUTLINED IN OUR COMPANY MANUALS. WE DECLARED AN EMER WITH ATC AS WE COULD NOT POSITIVELY DETERMINE THAT THE NOSE GEAR WAS SAFETY LOCKED. WE DECLARED AN EMER WITH ATC AND LANDED SAFELY AT CLT ON RWY 18R. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE PROB WAS IN THE INDICATING SYS.
