Narrative:

An aircraft had a write-up of no electrical power at the mid galley. Upon inspection, chafed wiring above the mid galley at the 2L door was found. The wires were spliced and reterminated using boeing standard wiring practices. I found an area in the wiring practices manual that had conflicting information. Our engineers conferred with boeing and it was determined that the manual was incorrect. My engineer wrote an engineering document to support the correct procedure. There was much confusion as to the correct procedure. Finally, a safe one was given.
