Narrative:

On arrival to lax from north over smo, told 3 times to expect runway 24R. We were instructed to follow traffic on a base turn to the north complex, and we were now cleared to runway 24L versus runway 24R. We were not advised of converging traffic from the south, and while looking left to ensure deconfliction with that traffic, we slightly overshot the final approach course to the north complex. We did not receive a TCASII advisory or alert, and were no closer than 1 mi to the converging traffic. It is not uncommon for approach to say expect runway xx and then change the plan at the last min to satisfy their spacing requirements. This puts us in an even higher workload. Descending, turning, setting up for approach, changing ILS frequencys, changing to tower frequency, etc, and not advising us of all the traffic. Lax is continually trying to cram even more aircraft into an already saturated environment. Supplemental information from acn 512745: I missed the line-up while watching the other aircraft for separation. Had I been made aware of the other aircraft for the parallel, I probably would not have been concerned and therefore would not have overshot.

Title: B737 FLC OVERSHOOT FINAL APCH COURSE AT LAX WHEN CHANGED FROM RWY 24R TO RWY 24L AND CONCERNED WITH CONVERGING, NOT ISSUED TFC TURNING TO FINAL AT THE S ARPT COMPLEX.

Narrative: ON ARR TO LAX FROM N OVER SMO, TOLD 3 TIMES TO EXPECT RWY 24R. WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO FOLLOW TFC ON A BASE TURN TO THE N COMPLEX, AND WE WERE NOW CLRED TO RWY 24L VERSUS RWY 24R. WE WERE NOT ADVISED OF CONVERGING TFC FROM THE S, AND WHILE LOOKING L TO ENSURE DECONFLICTION WITH THAT TFC, WE SLIGHTLY OVERSHOT THE FINAL APCH COURSE TO THE N COMPLEX. WE DID NOT RECEIVE A TCASII ADVISORY OR ALERT, AND WERE NO CLOSER THAN 1 MI TO THE CONVERGING TFC. IT IS NOT UNCOMMON FOR APCH TO SAY EXPECT RWY XX AND THEN CHANGE THE PLAN AT THE LAST MIN TO SATISFY THEIR SPACING REQUIREMENTS. THIS PUTS US IN AN EVEN HIGHER WORKLOAD. DSNDING, TURNING, SETTING UP FOR APCH, CHANGING ILS FREQS, CHANGING TO TWR FREQ, ETC, AND NOT ADVISING US OF ALL THE TFC. LAX IS CONTINUALLY TRYING TO CRAM EVEN MORE ACFT INTO AN ALREADY SATURATED ENVIRONMENT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 512745: I MISSED THE LINE-UP WHILE WATCHING THE OTHER ACFT FOR SEPARATION. HAD I BEEN MADE AWARE OF THE OTHER ACFT FOR THE PARALLEL, I PROBABLY WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CONCERNED AND THEREFORE WOULD NOT HAVE OVERSHOT.
