Narrative:

Aircraft experienced brake failure on landing and rolled off runway approximately 150 ft into the grass. No damage to airport facilities or lighting damage to landing gear only. 5 lndgs within 10 days by 3 different pilots had been made in this aircraft all experiencing momentary or total loss of braking functions at different exit speeds and for periods of time of at least 30 seconds to 1 min. Aircraft had been grounded on may/xa/01 and company maintenance had worked on aircraft on may/xc/01 did a low speed taxi test and returned aircraft to service.

Title: BEECH JET 400 CAPT LOST DIRECTIONAL CTL OF ACFT DURING LNG ROLL DUE MAIN BRAKE FAILURE RESULTING IN RUNNING OFF RWY INTO GRASS CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE ACFT.

Narrative: ACFT EXPERIENCED BRAKE FAILURE ON LNDG AND ROLLED OFF RWY APPROX 150 FT INTO THE GRASS. NO DAMAGE TO ARPT FACILITIES OR LIGHTING DAMAGE TO LNDG GEAR ONLY. 5 LNDGS WITHIN 10 DAYS BY 3 DIFFERENT PLTS HAD BEEN MADE IN THIS ACFT ALL EXPERIENCING MOMENTARY OR TOTAL LOSS OF BRAKING FUNCTIONS AT DIFFERENT EXIT SPDS AND FOR PERIODS OF TIME OF AT LEAST 30 SECONDS TO 1 MIN. ACFT HAD BEEN GNDED ON MAY/XA/01 AND COMPANY MAINT HAD WORKED ON ACFT ON MAY/XC/01 DID A LOW SPD TAXI TEST AND RETURNED ACFT TO SVC.
