Narrative:

Inadvertently set in wrong altimeter which resulted in us being 500 ft lower than what was indicated. We leveled at the perceived 12000 ft, but realized the altimeter was incorrectly set. Concurrently told to descend to 11000 ft. We leveled at 11000 ft with correct altimeter. No conflicts or inquiries.
