Narrative:

I was the captain on flight from stl to irk. I was flying the ozark 2 departure at 6000 ft MSL. ZKC told me to climb and maintain 8000 ft. My first officer acknowledged the call, but I did not climb. ZKC called 1 min later and asked us to verify climbing to 8000 ft. I immediately started a climb to 8000 ft at 1500 FPM. I apologized for not climbing sooner.
