Narrative:

Only NDB radio was MEL'ed. Flight plan was on bka J133 hbk to joh to anc. The segment to/from hbk could not be flown without radar vectors, since we had no NDB. This wasn't discovered until after bka. I advised dispatch for the return leg. At first, dispatch advised NDB was not required. I then pointed out the box offset that states that it was required. The flight from anc was anc J133 joh J501 yak in order to go around hbk.
