Narrative:

During initial programming of the FMC on our originating aircraft, the first officer and I both noticed the message 'navigation data out of date.' the first officer went to the appropriate page and line selected the new, current navigation data into the actual line. Upon our arrival in mdw, a mechanic met us at the aircraft and said there were some problems with the navigation data in some of the aircraft. He looked at our navigation data and was satisfied that it was current. We flew the aircraft one more leg back to isp.
