Narrative:

We received our clearance before departure from morristown. We were given the morristown four departure. I read the clearance back but did not realize, at the time, that I was not given a squawk code or a departure frequency. While I was doing the run up and preparing for departure in the hold block, we were given clearance for takeoff. I was not finished with my takeoff preparations and should have informed the tower that we were unable. Instead of this I felt rushed and took the runway for departure. Upon takeoff the tower gave me a heading to fly and told me to contact departure. At this point I realized that I did not have the departure frequency. Morristown tower gave me the departure frequency. I contacted departure and flew the assigned heading. When I contacted departure they asked where I departed. I told them and gave altitude and heading. At this time I realized that we had a problem. The center gave a squawk code, altitude, and heading. After this point, everything seemed to be fine. The entire problem should have been avoided. I should have not taken the runway until we were 100 percent ready. I also feel that morristown tower did a poor job giving clearance, and verifying my readback. I gained experience with this situation and it will help me to be more cautious about clearance verification.

Title: AN INCOMPLETE CLRNC, WITHOUT XPONDER CODE OR DEP FREQUENCY. CLRNC WAS ISSUED AND A TAKE OFF WAS MADE WITHOUT HAVING COMPLETED ALL PREPARATION.

Narrative: WE RECEIVED OUR CLRNC BEFORE DEP FROM MORRISTOWN. WE WERE GIVEN THE MORRISTOWN FOUR DEP. I READ THE CLRNC BACK BUT DID NOT REALIZE, AT THE TIME, THAT I WAS NOT GIVEN A SQUAWK CODE OR A DEP FREQUENCY. WHILE I WAS DOING THE RUN UP AND PREPARING FOR DEP IN THE HOLD BLOCK, WE WERE GIVEN CLRNC FOR TAKEOFF. I WAS NOT FINISHED WITH MY TAKEOFF PREPARATIONS AND SHOULD HAVE INFORMED THE TWR THAT WE WERE UNABLE. INSTEAD OF THIS I FELT RUSHED AND TOOK THE RWY FOR DEP. UPON TAKEOFF THE TWR GAVE ME A HEADING TO FLY AND TOLD ME TO CONTACT DEP. AT THIS POINT I REALIZED THAT I DID NOT HAVE THE DEP FREQUENCY. MORRISTOWN TWR GAVE ME THE DEPARTURE FREQUENCY. I CONTACTED DEP AND FLEW THE ASSIGNED HDG. WHEN I CONTACTED DEP THEY ASKED WHERE I DEPARTED. I TOLD THEM AND GAVE ALT AND HDG. AT THIS TIME I REALIZED THAT WE HAD A PROB. THE CTR GAVE A SQUAWK CODE, ALT, AND HEADING. AFTER THIS POINT, EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BE FINE. THE ENTIRE PROB SHOULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED. I SHOULD HAVE NOT TAKEN THE RWY UNTIL WE WERE 100 PERCENT READY. I ALSO FEEL THAT MORRISTOWN TWR DID A POOR JOB GIVING CLRNC, AND VERIFYING MY READBACK. I GAINED EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SIT AND IT WILL HELP ME TO BE MORE CAUTIOUS ABOUT CLRNC VERIFICATION.
