Narrative:

During ILS runway 5, the GS failed at approximately 2500 ft. The runway was in sight so we continued. At approximately 2000 ft we lost sight of the runway due to scattered clouds, we elected to go around. And while climbing to 4000 ft, passing 3600 ft (MSA 3800 ft) the proximity warning system said 'terrain, terrain, too low, pull up.' the captain assumed control of the aircraft and performed an escape maneuver. We leveled at 5000 ft and completed the next ILS without further incident.
