Narrative:

We were maneuvering on the border of W157, border of 3Y and 3Z. Zulu area is capped at FL240. We maneuvered at FL260 near the border by our navaids, but received a call from gci that we were in zulu area 'above the vertical limits.' a civilian airliner was at FL350 approximately 1 NM laterally to us. We maneuvered back west to establish well within area 3Y and updated navigation equipment and status. Recommend 'heads up' calls by monitoring agencies (gci, ATC) when 'approaching' airspace warning area suffers to preempt errors and discrepancies between radar and onboard navigation equipment.
