Narrative:

We landed on runway 35 at saez at approximately XA20. Runway 11/29 was closed. The landing was smooth on centerline and within the touchdown boundary. Brakes 2 was used per recent bulletin. The runway was cleared at taxiway B. After shutdown, the local maintenance advised us that there were chunks of asphalt all over the right main gear and what appeared to be cosmetic damage. I might also add that a B777 landed after us and reported pieces of asphalt in the vicinity of taxiway C, fairly close to our turnoff. I can only speculate that we went over a defective area on the runway and that our tires broke it loose and caused a spray of asphalt. None of us saw any debris on the runway when we landed.

Title: B767 CREW FOUND 'CHUNKS' OF ASPHALT COVERING R GEAR TRUCK.

Narrative: WE LANDED ON RWY 35 AT SAEZ AT APPROX XA20. RWY 11/29 WAS CLOSED. THE LNDG WAS SMOOTH ON CTRLINE AND WITHIN THE TOUCHDOWN BOUNDARY. BRAKES 2 WAS USED PER RECENT BULLETIN. THE RWY WAS CLRED AT TXWY B. AFTER SHUTDOWN, THE LCL MAINT ADVISED US THAT THERE WERE CHUNKS OF ASPHALT ALL OVER THE R MAIN GEAR AND WHAT APPEARED TO BE COSMETIC DAMAGE. I MIGHT ALSO ADD THAT A B777 LANDED AFTER US AND RPTED PIECES OF ASPHALT IN THE VICINITY OF TXWY C, FAIRLY CLOSE TO OUR TURNOFF. I CAN ONLY SPECULATE THAT WE WENT OVER A DEFECTIVE AREA ON THE RWY AND THAT OUR TIRES BROKE IT LOOSE AND CAUSED A SPRAY OF ASPHALT. NONE OF US SAW ANY DEBRIS ON THE RWY WHEN WE LANDED.
