Narrative:
Descending to 17000 ft, cleared to bunts, overshot altitude to 16650 ft and corrected back to 17000 ft. Cause: cleared direct bunts and entered that in gfms when I should have leveled off first.

Title: B727 FLC ON BOWIE STAR INTO DFW OVERSHOOT ALT AFTER BEING ASSIGNED HOLDING AT BUNTS INTXN.
Narrative: DSNDING TO 17000 FT, CLRED TO BUNTS, OVERSHOT ALT TO 16650 FT AND CORRECTED BACK TO 17000 FT. CAUSE: CLRED DIRECT BUNTS AND ENTERED THAT IN GFMS WHEN I SHOULD HAVE LEVELED OFF FIRST.
