Narrative:

We were flying a non gfms equipped S80 on J181 from austin to chicago. At okm, we inadvertently flew outbound on the wrong radial. Center called us about 20 DME north of okm to ask if we were proceeding direct to eos alerting us to our error. We corrected course and center said no conflict with other aircraft had occurred. Next controller cleared us direct to bradford as we intercepted J181 to eos. Contributing to this navigation error is the extremely congested confluence of poorly marked airways in this part of the high chart. Closer attention by both pilots could have prevented it.
