Narrative:

While on an IFR flight plan from akron, oh, to teterboro, nj, feb/xa/01 around XA00Z, I was sic (PF) of an AC690 turbo commander 900 during a part 91 flight. The PNF was in radio contact with ZNY approximately 50 NM west of teb and had received the altimeter setting. While maintaining a listening watch on the radio frequency, more time went by than usual to receive the next clearance. The PNF tried to contact ZNY on the assigned frequency but was unsuccessful. Recognizing that communication was lost with the assigned frequency, I continued to follow the filed IFR flight plan as is prescribed in the aim lost communication procedure. The PNF then called a new york approach frequency to re-establish radio contact. We were immediately sent to teb tower frequency and cleared to land. The flight terminated uneventfully.
