Narrative:

IFR clearance was to climb and maintain 3000 ft after takeoff. During cockpit setup, takeoff brief and taxi, the crew was interrupted several times by ATC. Altitude preselect was set to 5000 ft, not 3000 ft. After departure and climbing through 3300 ft, ATC advised us to maintain 3000 ft. No aircraft conflicts.

Narrative: IFR CLRNC WAS TO CLB AND MAINTAIN 3000 FT AFTER TKOF. DURING COCKPIT SETUP, TKOF BRIEF AND TAXI, THE CREW WAS INTERRUPTED SEVERAL TIMES BY ATC. ALT PRESELECT WAS SET TO 5000 FT, NOT 3000 FT. AFTER DEP AND CLBING THROUGH 3300 FT, ATC ADVISED US TO MAINTAIN 3000 FT. NO ACFT CONFLICTS.
