Narrative:

Landed to the north on runway 1. Tower told us to take taxiway north if able. We were too fast and runway wet so we said 'unable.' tower said 'ok, then immediate left turn on runway 33, immediate turn on taxiway J, and expedite.' we thought it would be better for us to go straight on runway 1 and left on taxiway south, but we complied with tower's hurried and fast and nervous clearance. Turned left on runway 33 and being dark, wet, and unfamiliar (we land here once every 6 months), we sought 'taxiway J' and turned. Tower sent an airplane on runway 33 final around and ground control wanted to know 'why didn't you hurry?' was given phone number and called tower at gate for chewing out. It is not my job to fit maximum airplanes in/out of dca. Tower and ground should not use multiple turns for airplanes still in landing phase. Especially don't use 'expedite, hurry, etc' just to squeeze more airplanes in/out.

Title: AN LGT CREW LNDG AT DCA FAILED TO EXPEDITE ENOUGH, CAUSING THE TWR TO ISSUE A GAR TO LNDG TFC.

Narrative: LANDED TO THE N ON RWY 1. TWR TOLD US TO TAKE TXWY N IF ABLE. WE WERE TOO FAST AND RWY WET SO WE SAID 'UNABLE.' TWR SAID 'OK, THEN IMMEDIATE L TURN ON RWY 33, IMMEDIATE TURN ON TXWY J, AND EXPEDITE.' WE THOUGHT IT WOULD BE BETTER FOR US TO GO STRAIGHT ON RWY 1 AND L ON TXWY S, BUT WE COMPLIED WITH TWR'S HURRIED AND FAST AND NERVOUS CLRNC. TURNED L ON RWY 33 AND BEING DARK, WET, AND UNFAMILIAR (WE LAND HERE ONCE EVERY 6 MONTHS), WE SOUGHT 'TXWY J' AND TURNED. TWR SENT AN AIRPLANE ON RWY 33 FINAL AROUND AND GND CTL WANTED TO KNOW 'WHY DIDN'T YOU HURRY?' WAS GIVEN PHONE NUMBER AND CALLED TWR AT GATE FOR CHEWING OUT. IT IS NOT MY JOB TO FIT MAX AIRPLANES IN/OUT OF DCA. TWR AND GND SHOULD NOT USE MULTIPLE TURNS FOR AIRPLANES STILL IN LNDG PHASE. ESPECIALLY DON'T USE 'EXPEDITE, HURRY, ETC' JUST TO SQUEEZE MORE AIRPLANES IN/OUT.
