Narrative:

Rolling out after landing on runway 4, just passing turnoff on taxiway P when controller said 'clear the intersection.' this was not heard clearly due to level of workload and noise. Captain thought he was being instructed to clear at the intersection (runway) next right for landing traffic behind us. Tower wanted us to roll through the intersection. No real problems developed -- just a misunderstanding. Tower should not issue instructions during rollout.
