Narrative:

We were 10 NM from glimr intersection on the landr 3 arrival into denver. ATC gave us a crossing restr from FL240 to cross glimr at 16000 ft. This restr came with 10 NM notice and we initially accepted this. However, upon further action we were unable to accept. This would have required us to lose 8000 ft in 10 NM at 360 KTS ground speed. This would've required a +5 degree slope and around 5000 FPM descent. This was unacceptable and unsafe for that type of operation and we didn't make the restr. We later were given landr at 14000 ft and this was acceptable. No incident occurred and we later landed safely.

Title: FLC OF A DORNIER 328 COULD NOT MAKE XING RESTR DURING AN ARR DSCNT DUE LATE CLRNC GIVEN BY ARTCC CTLR.

Narrative: WE WERE 10 NM FROM GLIMR INTXN ON THE LANDR 3 ARR INTO DENVER. ATC GAVE US A XING RESTR FROM FL240 TO CROSS GLIMR AT 16000 FT. THIS RESTR CAME WITH 10 NM NOTICE AND WE INITIALLY ACCEPTED THIS. HOWEVER, UPON FURTHER ACTION WE WERE UNABLE TO ACCEPT. THIS WOULD HAVE REQUIRED US TO LOSE 8000 FT IN 10 NM AT 360 KTS GND SPD. THIS WOULD'VE REQUIRED A +5 DEG SLOPE AND AROUND 5000 FPM DSCNT. THIS WAS UNACCEPTABLE AND UNSAFE FOR THAT TYPE OF OP AND WE DIDN'T MAKE THE RESTR. WE LATER WERE GIVEN LANDR AT 14000 FT AND THIS WAS ACCEPTABLE. NO INCIDENT OCCURRED AND WE LATER LANDED SAFELY.
