Narrative:

During descent into msp, WX clear and 10 mi visibility, copilot was flying. We called airport in sight at 12 mi. Approach control gave us a visual approach clearance to runway 30R. The copilot set the final approach altitude in the altitude window and began descending to that altitude. The approach controller informed us we had gone below the class B airspace limit and should climb back up. He said he would not file a violation on us. I was not aware of the rule and could not find it clearly written in part 1. Upon review of my aim when I got home, I found the restr in part 97. My aim was 12 yrs old, so it may be in a different place now. I would recommend a clear statement in part 1 advising of this restr.
