Narrative:

Unable to control cabin altitude during climb out and leveloff at FL250. Tried all modes of electronic pressurization system with no help. Elected to reinstate the placarded left pack to avoid oxygen mask deployment in passenger cabin. Could not descend below 10000 ft due to high terrain. Reinstating the left pack regained control of the cabin.

Title: A B727-200 IN CRUISE AT FL250 WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN CABIN PRESSURE ON SINGLE PACK OP ACTIVATED A DEFERRED AS INOP PACK TO MAINTAIN ALT.

Narrative: UNABLE TO CTL CABIN ALT DURING CLBOUT AND LEVELOFF AT FL250. TRIED ALL MODES OF ELECTRONIC PRESSURIZATION SYS WITH NO HELP. ELECTED TO REINSTATE THE PLACARDED L PACK TO AVOID OXYGEN MASK DEPLOYMENT IN PAX CABIN. COULD NOT DSND BELOW 10000 FT DUE TO HIGH TERRAIN. REINSTATING THE L PACK REGAINED CTL OF THE CABIN.
