Narrative:

We received an IFR clearance from ind departure control on a flight from ump (indianapolis metropolitan) to asw (warsaw, in). They did not issue a hold, but they requested that we report #1 for takeoff on runway 33. I had to talk with a passenger and when I got back on the radio my first officer said things were fine to go. When we contacted departure, they mentioned to us to contact them prior to our takeoff. I do not believe there was a traffic conflict. This could have been avoided by no conversation with passenger.
